Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that empowers organizations like Wildwood Park for the Arts to continue our charitable, nonprofit work throughout the coming year. Wildwood is participating in #GivingTuesday2017 on November 28, with this year’s campaign focusing on raising money for instruments for Wildwood’s summer music academy for ages 6-18, The Wildwood Academy for Music and the Arts (WAMA).
Wildwood Park recently received a matching grant from Classics for Kids Foundation to purchase stringed instruments, and is seeking donations for the matching portion. Since WAMA’s founding in 2014, Wildwood has borrowed additional instruments from partner public schools. WAMA continues to grow. The Classics for Kids Foundation grant allows Wildwood to purchase instruments for the program, setting a new course of growth for WAMA.
WAMA 2017 included full vocal and orchestral music components for students from beginner to advanced. During WAMA, students study with professional faculty in sessions throughout six weeks of the summer, experiencing not only music training but visual arts, theater, creative writing, and yoga. In four short years, WAMA has become a well-respected way for children to enrich their summer months in a world-class setting, drawing students from across the nation.
Please consider Wildwood Park on November 28. Every donation counts!
