"Winterrisse" by Franz Schubert

April 27, 2007 – 8 PM

Franz Schubert effectively established the German lied as an art form in the 19th century. His two master pieces were practically without precedent and have never been surpassed. “Winterrissee” identifies nature with human suffering but with a more intensely Romantic, universal, profoundly tragic quality. Robert Holden will bring this beautiful piece to life with the use of power point to provide illuminating illustration.
