FESTIVALS
Wildwood launches it first festival of 2008 with Blooms an outdoor festival celebrating the return of springtime to Arkansas. Scheduled to take place during the blooming season of Wildwood’s woodland azaleas, the two-day event will consist of a collage of the performing, culinary, visual, literary and horticultural arts and will include activities appropriate for the whole family.
Jump – June 19-20
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Arkansas jazz pioneer Louis Jordan, Wildwood Park, the Louis Jordan Tribute and the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies are collaborating to produce JUMP. The day-long festival will include performances by area "jump bands"; dance demonstrations of swing-era dances such as the lindy-hop, swing and bee-bop and the screening of Louis Jordan movies in Wildwood's studio theatre.
